How we test — editorial standards
Friendroid's informational content (/blogs/learn) is researched and written by the Friendroid Robotics Desk — the editorial team behind friendroid.eu. Our goal is to be the most honest, useful, EU-localised answer on the web for people choosing and living with consumer robots.
How we research
- Every factual claim is grounded in independent sources — review labs (RTINGS, Which?, Consumer Reports), engineering and academic references (IEEE Spectrum, MathWorks, peer-reviewed studies), and official EU/IE bodies. Manufacturer pages are used only for first-party specs and pricing, never as recommendations.
- We write for Irish and UK homes: EUR-first pricing, m² gardens, GDPR data rights, the EU statutory two-year warranty, and Right-to-Repair — context the US-centric incumbents skip.
- Where we have hands-on access to a robot we stock, we say so and add first-hand notes.
How we write
- Specific, sourced, and jargon-free. We lead with a direct answer, attribute claims to named sources, and never invent specs, prices, studies, or legal facts.
- Every article passes an automated anti-slop and sourcing review before a human editor approves it. Nothing publishes automatically.
